Celebrate!

Today there is reason to celebrate! Today is launch day for Mysa Home Styling, which means the beginning of some dreams turned into reality for me. And dreams being more than just dreams is pretty much always reason for celebration in my book! So get your party pants on, get your confetti and noise-makers ready, and let’s party!

But before the party, let me give you a little bit of background to this little dream-turned-reality for me. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love and a knack for making spaces beautiful. Growing up, I was constantly rearranging my room, trying to find a new creative way to display my things or a more functional layout for my furniture. My passion for creating a cozy space grew as I went to college and got to play around with dorm room arrangements, which provided a whole new slew of design challenges with their brick walls and bunkbeds. But my love for creating spaces that were filled with personality and depth really took off when my husband and I moved into our first apartment. Since then, much of my free time, money, and creative energy has gone toward our home. I love a good challenge, and thrifting to find the perfect piece of furniture or accessory gets my heart beating a little faster. I’ve loved learning from professionals in the industry through home design books and blogs, and have gained loads of insight and skills in the past few years.

I have been encouraged by countless friends and family members that I should take this passion for home styling and share it with others. So I began to dream—’What if I was to offer home styling services to other? What would that look like? Where would I even begin? Would people even be interested in something like that?’ After some teary-eyed conversations with my husband (the most supportive business partner ever!), I came to the conclusion that I would never know if I never tried. So I began where any new business owner begins… at the beginning, as a newbie, and with a whole lotta questions. And I began.

And so here we are! At launch day! And I can hardly believe it. But I am so thankful. I am thankful for my husband who pushed me to actually try and has supported me throughout this steep learning curve, to friends and family who planted this idea in my heart in the first place and have given such valuable feedback along the way, and for Jesus, who makes me brave to try this thing out and who I find my identity in, so whether Mysa Home Styling is a roaring success or a wah-wahhh, I know my value is in Him. And to end my apparent grammy or nobel peace prize or whatever big award I just won speech, I’m thankful for YOU for taking the time to stop by and read this! Oh yeah, and to party.
