Today I’m excited to share with you my very first guest post on the Mysa blog! Kendra and I met over Instagram (the internet these days, amiright?!?), and our relationship has been so encouraging as we’ve spurred one another on in our endeavors. Kendra is an interior designer and artist, and it’s been so neat to see her really embrace her craft over the past few months. Today Kendra is going to share her bedroom with us, so without further ado…
Thank you Heather for letting me share a special corner of our home. We recently moved into an adorable one bedroom apartment and it feels so nice to have a little space to call “ours.” I am an interior designer who recently decided to pick back up my paintbrushes and begin pursuing my passion for fine art and interior design.
However, for the past 2 years my husband and I have been living out of suitcases, so finding a place where I could paint the walls had me heading to the home improvement store the moment I was given the “OK.”
When I approached decorating our bedroom or really any space in our home, I find I take a more minimal and budget friendly approach. In our bedroom you can find simple touches of the things that we love and that we use daily. My art supplies are displayed and the my husband’s guitar is out to make sure that it is always within reach.
I choose dark blue grey paint to cover the wall behind our bed. It was a great way to accent the amazing angles of the room while creating the illusion of a backboard for our bed.
To say that we have a love for hats is an understatement, so instead of keeping them stuffed in the closet, I was able to reuse this great drying rack to display our hat collection.
Details // Paint: Sherwin Williams “No Limits,” Lamps: Target, Red Blanket: Costco (10 years old.. ), Shelving: Ikea, Sheet Set: Target.
I hope you enjoy a peak into our little house!
So simple, personal and attainable!
Right?? That’s one of the things I love about Kendra… she’s so down-to-earth!
