Happy mini new-year! We’re only a few days away from closing on our first home, so I’m sure you can imagine how much time I’ve been spending on Pinterest and elsewhere gathering inspiration for our new home! One trend that I’ve been seeing around for awhile that I’m really interested to try is half painted walls. It’s no secret that I love the look of fresh, crisp, white walls. And I certainly plan to incorporate a lot of them in our new house. However, I also want to add some boldness and color with the walls in at least one room, and I think that half painted walls might be the perfect compromise. You can still have some of that fresh white, and a bold statement is made by whatever color you choose and the unique style of painting.
I think this look works in any room of the house, and is a great way to add some color without too much commitment. 🙂 It’s also a great way to call out some of the architecture in your home, as seen in the above photo, where they painted the teal half-way up until where the wall slants up to the ceiling.
We’re considering trying this look out in our bedroom with a navy blue (similar to the first photo). We’ll need to repaint most every room in the house anyway, so it might be a fun experiment! What do you think? Would you incorporate this look into your home?
