Soooo technically this is exterior inspiration, but the other day I caught myself strolling through the patio isles at Target, eyeing up the twinkle lights, caressing the water-proof pillows, and generally obsessing over EVERY SINGLE THING. Seriously, do not go there if you are afraid of spending all your dollars, because it just might happen!
Naturally, all those pretty lanterns and nifty grilling tools really got me into patio-dreaming mode. I can hardly wait until it’s nice enough outside to really use our patio! Since we moved in at the end of September, we’ve gotten pretty minimal use out of it, and you’d better believe this girl is ready to get her hands allllll over that patio.
Here’s a little round-up of some pretty dreamy patios:

The best $10 #thriftstorefind I’ve had in awhile! Oh, and there’s another one too.
Excited for these beauties to find a home on one of our walls! I’m thinking they’ll look real cozy in our basement… once we get walls down there.

SO glad to be in bed after battling our way north through a snowstorm this evening. Whew! I was reminded about how lucky I am to have a partner through life for times like these… times that would be oh so rough by myself, but when spent with my husband are actually kind of fun and memory-making. We listened to podcasts, shared deep conversation, and made friends with the Applebees waitress. And now for sleep and the beginning of a new week. Monday, I’m looking at you. Let’s rock this! #weekendshenanigans #minnesnowta #douglasdigs

Some things that I’m drawn to in patios:
- Fun lighting
- Rugs, pillows, and other textiles
- Plants—lots of them!
- Comfy Seating
- Mainly neutral color palette with some pops of color
- Varying patterns and textures
I plan to include all of these things into our patio design this spring! We’re lucky to have a covered patio, so I’m definitely hoping to swoop some lights overhead. We recently found a great rug for the space at a thrift store, and we have the best hanging hammock chair that will be perfect for lounging on warm spring days.
All that’s left to get is accessories, as well as possibly paint the space and replace the overhead light. I’ll be back once there isn’t snow on the ground with some before photos and more plans!
