If you’re looking to do a budget bathroom renovation, then I’ve got the perfect post for you today! Or if you’re just here to see a black bathroom, I’ve got you covered there too. ๐
A couple of weekends ago we painted our bathroom black. When I tell people that we did this, they always reply with shock and awe that we would paint walls black! Sure, it was a risk, but it was a risk that paid offโBIG TIME. So without further ado, here’s the before & after!
Here’s the before of our bathroom… pretty boring, neutral, and 60’s-looking. There wasn’t anything inherently wrong with it, it just wasn’t exciting. No matter what I put on the walls or counter, it felt flat and dull.
And here’s the after! A million times better, right?? It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do! Of course, we also installed a new light fixture and hung that amazing round shelf, but the paint alone made such a huge difference!
I love all the little details that make a space! Candles, plants, and art all help to pull this room together. Pro hostess tip: light a candle in the bathroom before you have people over. Not only does it add a nice ambience, but it also masks any smells that guests might be embarrassed by. ๐
And let’s take one more look, shall we? This just goes to show that you don’t always need to completely gut a space to make drastic improvements. Sometimes all you need is a coat of paint and a few new accessories!
Paint: $10 for 1 quart from Home Depot (Deep Onyx, Glidden)
Shelf: This one, got for $10 at Goodwill
Light Fixture: $50, Menards
Hola Framed Art: $3 at Salvation Army
Total Cost: $73
Who woulda thought that a black wall could make a space look so cool and crisp and beautiful?! Very well done Miss Mysa! ๐. Dis very petty!!
Thank you! We’re really liking it! ๐
“Mask any smells” HAHAHA. I need to do this especially since our bathroom doesn’t have a fan!!
Hehe. ๐ Yes, this is definitely a good tip for fan-less bathrooms! ๐
Loks like a space a person could get ‘lost’ in. Looks amazing.
Ha! I don’t think it’s quite big enough for that. ๐ And thanks! It was a fun transformation!
