When people hear ‘home stylist,’ I fear they often hear ‘optional,’ ‘expensive,’ ‘frivolous,’ or ‘unnecessary.’ But what I want to convince you of is that home styling, at least with Mysa, is none of those things!
Sure, it may feel a bit indulgent, as one of my clients put it, “home styling with Mysa is like a spa day for your home!” But just because it feels like a spa day, doesn’t mean that it isn’t crucial for your home! After all, people are touting the benefits of self care these days…. well, this post is all about the benefits of home care.
But don’t just take my words for it! I’ve included quotes from my real-life clients to help convince you of what I already know to be true—home styling has so much value in helping you create a home that’s filled with beauty and purpose, an inviting and functional space for your family and guests.
“I hired Heather to come to my home and help me figure out how to change and update our decor without breaking the bank. She had great ideas! She excels in this area!” —Kathy
If you’re tired of making purchases that you discover you don’t really love or don’t really work for your space, a home stylist can help! When you work with me, I make sure that any new purchases you make fit your style and the feel of a space and are the correct color, size, etc! When you bring in a professional, less mistakes are made when shopping.
“She is flexible, knowledgable, and has a serious knack for using what decor and furniture pieces you already have and finding a purpose for them. I think that’s what stood out the most for me, was her tenacity to find a purpose out of decor pieces I’d given up on!” —Chin
Not only will I help you find new pieces for your space, but I also love helping you use what you already have! This means I won’t draw up a plan that involves spending thousands of dollars (unless that’s what you want!), but will instead work with the furniture and decor you have to create a space that is functional and cozy.
Working with a home stylist will bring new perspective to your home. I often suggest things to my clients that are quite simple, but are still something they hadn’t considered before. I find that I even benefit from having an outsider in to help me see things in my home that could use improvement!
“I left our time very inspired and her expertise helped me find solutions to things I had been puzzled about for a long time! I also went away with such helpful concepts when thinking through future rooms of our home that I wish to transform!” —Emma
Working with a home stylist will not only give you new ideas for your space, but it should also provide you with some level of education for future design projects.
For example, if my client is looking for window treatments, I’m not going to just pick out curtains for them. I will also tell them to hang the curtains high and wide, and to make sure their hardware plays off of other elements in their room and where their curtains should hit length-wise. All of that knowledge can then be applied to other rooms in their home apart from me.
“Heather did a great job discussing my style and my needs so that what she did aligned with those.” —Nichole
When you work with me, I’m going to spend time getting to know your style. Through Pinterest boards, shared images, and back-and-forth ideas, we’ll work to discover your style, and then incorporate that more into your home.
I’m also a big believer in spaces working for you and your family’s needs, as well as being beautiful. This means I won’t suggest something just because it’s pretty if it’s getting in the way of something functioning well. You can be sure that you’ll have a space that better reflects your style and functions well when you hire a home stylist.
“We had Heather come out and give us some recommendations on how to improve the look and feel of a room we rent out on Airbnb. She came well-prepared and had clearly looked through our listing quite thoroughly ahead of time— so she had a lot of great suggestions and ideas right off the bat.” —Greg
Home styling is an investment. You’re putting money toward something that offers potential profitable returns. Whether that’s through the increased resale of your home years down the line, renting out a property for a higher price, or the quicker and more profitable sale of a home that was staged, you’re going to get monetary value out of home styling.
